The American Lung Association of Connecticut relies on its medical section, the Connecticut Thoracic Society, to provide members with professional education opportunities particularly in the areas of lung research, critical care, pulmonary rehabilitation and sleep disorders. The CTS was established in 1950 and today has over 350 members. It is considered a national leader. The goal is to promote excellence in management, prevention and control of lung disease.
